About Evara
Evara is one of Ireland’s largest residential property developers, known for creating innovative and sustainable communities that make a real contribution to the country’s housing needs. In just four years, the company has grown rapidly, building large-scale developments and managing complex projects across multiple sites.
From the outset, Evara knew it didn’t want to invest heavily in building an in-house IT department. Instead, it partnered with Nostra as a Managed Service Provider (MSP) to design and manage a secure, agile, and cloud-first IT infrastructure – allowing its team to focus on building homes rather than running IT systems.
The Challenges
Starting from zero – While the Evara team had extensive industry experience, the company was new, with no systems, workflows, or infrastructure in place. Any solution had to be operational from day one and adapt as the business grew.
Multiple user needs – Departments including design, construction, HR, finance, legal, and sales needed different tools but shared collaboration. Remote workers, such as surveyors, required fast access to large CAD and design files, while site conditions demanded durable, high-performance hardware.
Security requirements – High-value, time-sensitive projects made robust cybersecurity essential, protecting against ransomware, phishing, and reputational risks.
Solutions
Nostra delivered a cloud-first approach using Azure, providing scalability, flexibility, and removing the need for on-site servers. SharePoint and OneDrive offered secure storage, version control, and collaboration tools, with Microsoft 365 improving day-to-day workflows.
Specialist architectural and construction software was hosted on a virtual server for secure access by the design team and site offices. Robust hardware was sourced to perform reliably in both office and site environments.
Security was built in from the start and later upgraded with Nostra’s Cloud Shield, a five-layer package combining advanced protection, back-up, and disaster recovery.
The Results
Evara now runs on a secure, cloud-based infrastructure that supports its fast-paced, multi-department operations. Staff collaborate seamlessly across locations with reliable, secure access to systems from offices, sites, or home.
Enhanced cybersecurity safeguards transactions and sensitive data, while scalable systems and durable hardware allow the business to adapt quickly. Regular roadmap meetings with Nostra ensure the IT environment evolves alongside company growth, keeping the focus on delivering housing projects.
